Our Anesthesiologist, Dr. Jaleel Durrani

At CaloAesthetics® Plastic Surgery Center, all surgical procedures are performed by our plastic surgeons with the support of our Chief Anesthesiologist and Intensivist, Jaleel Durrani, MD, MPH, MBA. Our top priorities are your safety and comfort, that’s why, unlike many practices, we have a dedicated, board-certified anesthesiologist on our staff, ensuring that every procedure is performed to the highest standards of care.

Dr. Durrani joined our team in January 2024 as Chief Anesthesiologist after serving 10 years as the Chief of Anesthesia and Medical Director of the operating rooms at Norton St. Matthew’s Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

Dr. Durrani is double board-certified in anesthesiology and critical care medicine. He completed his anesthesiology residency at the University of Louisville and fellowship training in critical care medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He also earned a master’s in public health at Harvard University.

His background includes serving as chair of the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at Quaid-e-Azam International Hospital in Islamabad, Pakistan, and Chief of Cardiac Anesthesia at Jersey City Medical Center in New Jersey. Dr. Durrani also served as a cardiac anesthesiologist at St. Francis Hospital in Delaware.

Norton Women’s & Children’s Hospital

Norton Women’s & Children’s Hospital is a full-service, 373-bed community hospital offering inpatient and outpatient medical/surgical services.

  • Lead a team of 14 MDs & 40 nurse anesthetists.
  • Ensure a smooth and uninterrupted running of 18 operating rooms (ORs) with 40 – 60 surgeries per day, 5 endoscopy suites with 50 – 65 cases/day, and 20 labor and delivery rooms & 3 obstetric ORs with more than 5000 deliveries per year.

Quaid-e-Azam International Hospital (QIH)

QIH is a 400-bed, state of the art private hospital in the Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan.

  • Established and led the Anesthesiology and ICU Departments from ground up.
  • Utilized my experience from the US to start the operations of the ORs and the ICU, to provide the same level of patient care quality that patients get in the US.
  • Taught and trained the local Pakistani Anesthesia providers in performing intraoperative Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE) and ultrasound-guided Peripheral Nerve Blocks.
